Luke Beauchamp's training log Running Blog at FastRunningBlog.Com Sat, 17 Nov 2018 16:07:55 FeedCreator 1.7.2 Tue, Jun 06, 2017 <p>Freshman year has&nbsp;come and gone, and I have little to show for it aside from some ill-advised blog posts.</p> <p>Brief Summary:</p> <ol> <li>Reached 60 miles a week over the summer, far surpassing any training volume I had done before</li> <li>&nbsp;Got mono somehow and raced twice without knowing I was sick in XC while redshirting: <ol> <li>CMU vs. MSU | 5k | 15:33 | 6th (MSU withheld top 6 or 7 guys)</li> <li>Spartan Invitational | 8k | 26:10 | 63rd (Really feeling sick at this point)</li> </ol> </li> <li>Too sick to race the next week</li> <li>Doctor&#39;s Appointment</li> <li>Blood Test</li> <li>Absolute Hell</li> <li>Attempting to return but getting injured repeatedly trying to increase mileage</li> <li>Went from pool running to racing in spikes in the span of like 3 weeks. Had a disastrous 3-race season: <ol> <li>Oakland Golden Grizzly Invite | 1500 | 4:13&nbsp;| 11th of 21, 2nd place in the slow heat</li> <li>GVSU Al Owens Open | 1500 | 4:04 | 26th overall, 10th in&nbsp;2nd heat&nbsp;(Threw up twice before this one)</li> <li>Hillsdale GINA Relays | 5000 | 15:24 | 47th in Open 5000 overall, 18th in 2nd Heat</li> </ol> </li> <li>Legs were in a ton of pain and hurt too much to do a cool down jog after the 5000, so I rested for a week</li> <li>Attempted to come back for summer training and was hit with the same leg pain, now trying again more gradually, with rehab and strength work.
